Marty Tierney has been practicing law since 1970, with particular emphasis on federal and state taxation. He has also worked extensively with international companies.

Mr. Tierney served as tax counsel for Exxon Corporation, New York and senior tax counsel to Bank of America and Natomas Corporation in San Francisco. At both corporations, he was head of the international tax section.

Mr. Tierney enjoys a national reputation for his handling of complex and significant tax issues including a decision in The Ninth Circuit favorable to the taxpayer. He frequently speaks at World Trade Institute and the California State Bar on international and corporate tax topics.

Mr. Tierney is a member of both the California and New York State Bar Associations, and is a past Chair of the State Bar of California Taxation Section and Golden Gate University and former director of it's LL.M. program in taxation. Mr. Tierney is the former dean of the graduate school of taxation at Golden Gate University. He graduated from Hastings College of Law in 1969, and received a LL.M. in taxation from New York University Law School in 1973.
