Ben Sanchez is one of the nation's most highly regarded tax attorneys, with broad experience in litigation and policy. Mr. Sanchez joined after a 25-year career as a top attorney for the Internal Revenue Service. At the same time, he was appointed Acting Director of the Master of Law in Taxation Program at Golden Gate University. He began his legal career with the IRS's Office of Chief Counsel for the Internal Revenue Service where he rose to Director, General Litigation Division in the Washington Headquarters and then to Regional Counsel for the Western Region. There, he served on the Executive Committee of the State Bar of California Taxation Section and on the California Continuing Education of the Bar. During his IRS career, Mr. Sanchez was responsible for a number of significant and celebrated tax cases, including several that reached the U.S. Supreme Court. He successfully prosecuted the government's largest tax case to that time - Apple Computer v. Comm. - involving millions of dollars of liability for transfer pricing. Mr. Sanchez graduated from Gonzaga University Law School in 1969 (where he is currently a trustee) and received his LL.M. in taxation from New York University in 1970.
