Christopher J. Keller has handled a broad spectrum of civil cases in both state and federal courts, including all types of employment litigation for both employees and employers (wrongful termination, all types of discrimination, wage and hour, employment torts, whistleblower, workers' compensation and employment contract issues), commercial litigation, including start-up, intellectual property venture financing issues and contract disputes, and ERISA litigation involving denial of employment benefits. He has significant experience in class action employment discrimination and wage and hour litigation. He also has significant federal False Claims Act and qui tam litigation experience. He spent five years representing plaintiffs and seven years defending employers in all aspects of employment litigation. He has represented large, multi-national corporations, mid size corporations, start-up companies, the California Courts, cities and counties in California and other public entities and numerous individuals. Mr. Keller is also an experienced appellate lawyer who has briefed a wide variety of issues including matters such as arbitration, race discrimination, defamation, and evidentiary issues, in federal and state appellate courts throughout the state of California. In addition to his litigation work, Mr. Keller's practice involves counseling his employment clients on strategies to trouble-shoot potential liability issues, communicate effectively and sensitively with employees and the public and mitigate damages, all in an effort to avoid litigation. He has also counseled employers on numerous international employment law related issues. Mr. Keller joined Cornerstone Law Group after practicing at Sedgwick, Detert, Moran and Arnold, Baker & MacKenzie, Curiale Dellaverson, and the former Saperstein, Goldstein, Demchak & Baller. Mr. Keller earned a J.D. from the University of Minnesota in 1995, and an LL.M. in from New York University in 2001. Mr. Keller earned a B.A. from St. Olaf College and an MAR from Yale University in 1989.
