Fredrik Emilson represents primarily property owners in real estate related disputes, including residential and commercial landlord/tenant matters, purchase/sale transactions co-owner disputes. Mr. Emilson also advices clients on leasing issues, and litigates contract related disputes in general.

Mr. Emilson's particular emphasis has been on representing San Francisco residential landlords and he has litigated hundreds of unlawful detainer actions, including several jury trials. Mr. Emilson's clientele includes professional landlords with problematic tenants, home owners seeking to occupy their new home and landlords who wish to cease renting their property under the Ellis Act. Mr. Emilson has handled a wide variety of matters relating to the San Francisco Rent Ordinance, and regularly represents landlords at the San Francisco Rent Board.

Mr. Emilson drafts and reviews residential and commercial lease agreements, as well as counseling clients entering into such leases and other contracts relating to real property. Mr. Emilson has litigated several contract disputes, including disclosure issues in purchase/sale contracts, TIC disputes, and service contracts.

Mr. Emilson is mindful of the costs of litigation and of legal representation in general. His approach to solving disputes has always been focused on finding the most cost-efficient solutions to achieving the client's objectives and on finding common ground rather than escalating a confrontation.

Prior to joining Cornerstone Law Group, Mr. Emilson was a senior associate with Zacks Utrecht & Leadbetter, PC. (2000-2005). Mr. Emilson also worked as an associate with Wiegel & Fried, LLP. (1995-2000).

Mr. Emilson received his JD from Golden Gate University, School of Law, San Francisco, California in 1995 and his BA from Loyola Marymount University, Los Angeles, California in 1991.

Mr. Emilson was born and raised in Europe and speaks fluent Swedish.
