The attorneys at Cornerstone Law Group are committed to providing excellent legal work at reasonable rates. Our structure allows us to have more flexibility in negotiating rates with our clients.
When it best serves our clients’ interests to do so, we handle matters based on fee arrangements that are an alternative arrangement to traditional hourly billing. The alternative fee arrangements most commonly used by CLG attorneys and their clients include the following:
Contingent Fees – With a contingent fee, the client does not pay any attorneys’ fees unless CLG is successful. When CLG attorneys represent a client asserting a claim as a plaintiff in civil action, the contingent fee ordinarily will be an agreed-upon percentage of the sums recovered, or a separate sum awarded by the court in accordance with applicable law and paid directly by the defendant. For cases in which CLG attorneys represent a defendant, or for non-litigation matters, a contingent fee agreement can specify the success benchmarks that CLG would have to meet in order to qualify for contingent fees and a formula for calculating those fees.
Partial Contingent Fees – A partial contingent fee arrangement combines a contingent fee with traditional hourly billing. The client receives a discount on the attorneys’ regular hourly rates and the attorneys, if they are successful, receive an agreed-upon contingent fee at the conclusion of the matter.
Fixed Fees – A fixed fee arrangement specifies a set, certain sum that attorneys will charge for handling a particular project, phase of litigation, or case. Fixed fee arrangements are carefully crafted on a matter-by-matter basis and are intended to provide clients with certainty regarding the total attorneys’ fees for a matter.
